Requirements

Mac OS X 10.5-10.10 and Java version 6.

IMPORTANT: Mac OS X 10.11 and later have compatibility issues and are not supported by B-Folders 4. Please check the latest version.

64-bit Macs with OS X 10.6-10.10

Mac OS X 10.7 and later do not include Java (JRE) by default. You will first need to install it from this page:

64-bit Macs with Mac OS X 10.6 and later, use a 64-bit Java by default. If that setting is changed, open Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences and make sure that a 64-bit Java is on the top of the list.

32-bit Macs with OS X 10.6

Make sure in Java Preferences the preferred version on the top of the Java Application Runtime Settings list is at least 6.0.

32-bit Macs with OS X 10.5

Java 6 is not available for 32-bit Macs with OS X 10.5 so you can run only an old version of B-Folders:

Installation

No special installation is needed. Open the b-folders folder from the location where you extracted the downloaded zip archive and start b-folders.

NOTE: If you get "b-folders.app" is damaged and can't be opened, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and change Allow applications downloaded from: to Anywhere.

Updates

The B-Folders application has a built-in mechanism that will automatically check for updates and ask you to install them when available.
