Mac OS X 10.5+ and Java version 5 or higher.
Make sure in Java Preferences the preferred version on the top of the Java Application Runtime Settings list is at least 5.0.
Mac OS X Lion does not include Java (JRE) by default. You will first
need to install it from this page:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1421
On 64-bit Macs, Snow Leopard and Lion use a 64-bit Java by default.
If that setting is changed, open Applications > Utilities >
Java Preferences and make sure that a 64-bit Java is on the top of
the list.
